Stronger Together

I wanted to share a bit about my Glam & Grit community and the dream behind it.

When I went through my personal health journey, I realized it was about so much more than the number on the scale. It became a process of learning how to manage stress, slow down, and give myself permission to play, seek adventure, and build meaningful connections. It wasn’t easy, but I made myself carve out time to care for me - something I hadn’t done in years.

I’ve shared pieces of this journey on my Run Glow Repeat website. I try to be honest about both the highs and the struggles, though sometimes it’s hard to share the real, raw hurt behind it all. I’m deeply grateful for the women who have thanked me for being open, and I know there is so much more we could all relate to if we talked about it more.

My hope is that every woman learns to love her “now,” to make space for joy, movement, and adventure, and to remember that she truly deserves it.

During my journey, I also made space to learn more about the things that truly matter to me as a woman. Going through menopause, I discovered that weight loss felt very different than it had before. I had never really been taught how to care for my skin or use makeup, so I chose to dive in and educate myself. Even as a certified coach, I continue to deepen my understanding of training, fitness, and how our bodies evolve over time.

Connection has always been at the heart of everything I do. When I started Ornery Mule Racing, my simple goal was to invite people onto the trails I love. Trail running mattered to me, and I wanted others to experience that same sense of freedom, strength, and joy.

Now, I am learning to love and value myself - something I know can be painfully difficult when you don’t. That’s why I want to invite women to connect, learn, grow, and, most importantly, love their lives as they are right now. Life is too short to spend a single day not valuing yourself.

With Glam & Grit, I’ve brought in incredible experts from our community to teach masterclasses on topics that truly matter to women. We use the Circle app, which makes it easy to communicate, share ideas, and build relationships. Our members help shape what we offer - tell us what you want to learn, and we’ll find the right expert to guide us.

I am also a huge believer in supporting women-owned businesses. From the beginning of Ornery Mule Racing, I’ve made it a priority to seek out and support women entrepreneurs. We need to uplift one another and be each other’s strongest advocates. That’s why I created a dedicated space within Glam & Grit to spotlight women-owned businesses in our community.

Some of the amazing women who are regular contributors include:

• Nurse Molly Rodriguez — skincare
• Coach Katie O’Connor — Ornery Mule Racing
• Susan Bolatto — weight loss journey
• Irene Kok — Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (menopause & hormones)
• Nicki Wright — Enneagram and fashion
• Coach Megan Sloan — running and triathlon coach
• Physical Therapist Holly Lindroth
• Michele Hartwig — makeup

As our community grows, I’ll continue adding more masterclasses and fun field trips. You don’t need to live nearby to be part of this - Glam & Grit is fully accessible online. And most importantly, our space on Circle is drama- and politics-free, making it a truly safe and supportive place to connect and learn.

If this sounds like something you’d love to be part of, I’d be thrilled to have you join us at the link. 💛
